After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degee from The University of Toledo, I worked as a public relations assistant in the Toledo offices of Lear Siegler Inc. Less than a year later, Uncle Sam decided he needed my services. During a three-year stint in the Army, I was lucky enough to be stationed in Washington, D.C., where I worked at the White House and the Pentagon. Following my discharge, I continued to work for the Army, but as a civilian employee -- first as the Public Information Officer for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command in Hyattsville, Md., then as one of the editors of the Army's worldwide magazine, Soldiers. Leaving government service, I became the Publications Director of the Society of American Florists, the national trade association representing the interests of the floral industry's retailers, growers and wholesalers. I eventually became the association's Executive Vice President. After seven years I accepted the position of Executive Vice President of the Machinery Dealers National Association, a trade group representing the international used metalworking equipment industry. In 2001 I moved to Wilmington, Del., where I opened my own consulting firm, 21st Sensory Management Inc., representing such diverse groups as Wilmington's radio stations, the American Red Cross, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, the YWCA, Independent Resources Inc., the Delaware Better Business Bureau, and the Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Chapter of the American Concrete Institute-International. During my career I also served on an advisory Board for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and the Board of Directors of Meridian International Center in Washington, as well as a guest lecturer for the University of Delaware's School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. I'm the former chairman of the Board of Directors of the DEXSTA Federal Credit Union and served on the Board of Trustees of the Warwick Condominium Association in Atlantic City, N.J., as well as the Boards of Paladin Club XI Condominium and the Home Owners of Edgewood Hills in Wilmington. Currently, I am a member of the Business Administration Advisory Board at Delaware Technical Community College. In addition, I write a bi-weekly column, Mr. AC Casino, for the Atlantic City Weekly, published by The Press of Atlantic City, and a monthly newsletter, Seven Stars Insider, for customers of Caesars Entertainment.
