SUSAN HOWARD LEACH

Retired after 30 years with TPS. I spent several years at Longfellow before finishing my career in a TRACS position at PiCkett School in the inner city. It was a learning experience for me and I am so glad to have been a part of rebuilding a struggling school. My MA degree was in Admin/Supr which I chose to utilize in a non-traditional way. When I retired, I missed the kids so I went back as a substitute teacher in Toledo and Washington Local. It's fun!

My children both attended Start following Mom's foot steps. My husband and I were very involved in parent groups with our kids. Jason played baseball and football so we became involved in field improvements. Carl helped rebuild the dugouts at the baseball field. We were very active on the light committee for the football stadium. Carl was in charge of construction, while I did advertising and re-introduced the football program. It was an exciting time as we worked to raise $100,000. to complete the project. Many Start alums contributed sweat equity as well as time to help. It is a highlight of my career!
